Happy Birthday Luna Park!

Still got a bit of 'kid' in you? Or maybe you're old enough to remember when this place was hip and oh-so-cool? Regardless, if you haven't given Luna Park much thought over the years maybe now is the time because Luna Park is about to turn one hundred!

Born on 13 December 1912, Luna Park was cutting edge and delivered a thrilling experience, particularly the Great Scenic Railway which literally gave people who had never even ridden in a car, the ride of their lives. Today, in our whiz-bang world where thrills come cheap and easy, we might think of Luna Park as 'old' or 'past its use by date' but this historic park is now a heritage listed icon and is worth a look. So maybe its time you took a step back into yesteryear and had a day of good old fashioned fun.

During December there is lots on at Luna Park including a Centenary Community Day on 13 December where thousands of lucky ticket holders will get to visit the park for free. Summer Nights will take place on Friday 14 December to kick start the park remaining open late on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays for the summer season and the Back to 1912 weekend is on the 15-16 December.

If you can't make it this December the park is open year round (opening days and times vary) and entry is free! Yes free! Once in the park you can capture thrills and spills with a single ride pass or go all out with an unlimited ride pass. Prices vary so please check the website for details.

Varies depending on time of year. Open until 11pm Thur, Frid, Sat during summer.

Entry is free. Rides and food extra.
